　【 教材简解】：

　本单元围绕过生日这一话题，通过Miss Li、Su Hai 和Mike对话谈论他们的生日日期以及如何过生日，意在让学生初步感知英语中序数词的使用方法以及日期的表达方式，并对生日当天的庆祝活动进行讨论和分享，同时简单渗透中西方文化中不同的生日风俗习惯。

　学情分析：

　学生在上一课Chinese festivals通过学习中国的几个传统节日，学习了表达节日所在月份，以及描述人们在不同节日里的常见活动和庆祝方式.而且在五年级上册Unit 2 （A new student）中已经学过first、second、third等序数词，对于本节课中新的序数词的学习和理解，以及讨论和表达过生日的活动语料方面有一定的帮助。

　【 目标预设】：

　根据学生的整体认识水平及课程标准的要求，确定本课时的教学目标如下：

　① 能在语境中朗读、初步理解有关生日及日期单词和短语：birthday, eleventh,eighth, May, together, April. ② 能能通过阅读文本，观察图片，在对话语境中初步感知序数词eighth/eleventh等的用法，初步了解英语中日期的表达方法。

　③ 能听懂、会读、会说、会写词组：the eleven of May, a birthday cake,play some games. ④ 能听懂、会读、会说、会写句型：when’s your birthday? It’s on/what

　本节在课堂设计上尝试使用以下模式：

　创建情境- - 设置问题 — 文本探究- - 巩固深化- - 再创情境- - 实践运用。利用歌曲导入入手，创设通话情境，通过问题为突破口，让学生仔细研读文本，充分发掘文本内容并这文本探究中巩固练习本课的重点和难点。在拓展环节创设新的情境，帮助学生构建语言轮回，同时通过开放性训练让学生自由组合，有意识的培养学生的思维能力，通过新的情境的时间和空间，让学生在广阔、开放的环境中启发智慧、发展能力，使思维在延伸拓展中无限生成，将知识内化为自己思考的果实。
