Ask some questions about Yao Ming: and say: Many people like him. What do you think makes a good basketball player? For example: Does a basketball player need to practice a lot? Is it important for basketball players to have team spirit? Basketball players are always very tall, aren’t they? Step2 :Presentation 1. Show the Ss the picture of Spud Webb and tell them: Today we’re going to learn about another NBA player. He’s called Spud Webb. 2. Ask:What do you know about Spud Webb? Let them say sth about him without looking books, then use PPT to learn new words,&finishB1 on P52 Step3 :Skimming
